The Egyptian forward sustained an injury in the first half of his side’s victory over Chelsea.
Mohamed Salah confirms he will be fit to play in the Champions League final.
Only half an hour into Liverpool’s FA Cup final against Chelsea, Salah limped off the pitch with a sore groin. However, both Jurgen Klopp and the forward have downplayed the injury, saying he won’t spend much time on the sidelines.
When asked whether he could return to Liverpool’s squad for the Champions League final, Salah said: “Of course”.
Speaking in a post-match press conference, Klopp also ensured Salah and Virgil Van Dijk did not sustain serious injuries.
“Obviously, I spoke to [Salah and Van Dijk] already after the game, both are really okay. All we know is it’s not a big thing, we really came through. But the next game is on Tuesday and that’s obviously pretty quick.
“No, I think they will both be fine, but not maybe… we have training [on Sunday] morning, then if they tell me: ‘I’m completely fine’ I will be surprised but I will take it and then we have to go from there. So we will see.”
Liverpool will face Real Madrid in a replay of the 2018 Champions League final on May 28. Let’s see if Salah can take revenge on the Blancos, who broke the Reds’ hearts in their first UCL final under Klopp.
