The Liverpool striker sees himself above every other player in his position.

Mohamed Salah has claimed he is the best player in his position ahead of Liverpool’s upcoming FA Cup and Champions League finals.

The Egypt international has played a crucial role in the Reds’ pursuit of the quadruple this season. With the season reaching its most decisive phase, Salah has made sure to remind everyone of his incredible quality.

Speaking to beIn Sports, the 29-year-old said: “If you compare me with any player in my position, not only in my team but in the world, you will find that I am the best.

“I always focus on my work and do my best and my numbers are the best proof of my words.”

“I like to always create a new challenge for me, to work in a different way and to make a difference and that is my duty.”

Liverpool’s upcoming Champions League final against Real Madrid will see Salah facing Karim Benzema, who is the currently the favourite candidate to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Asked about his feelings on facing the Blancos in a rematch of the 2018 UCL final, Salah responded: “I remember the last final against Real Madrid as if it was yesterday. We are well prepared and hopefully we can take our revenge in the next final.”

Liverpool will have to battle it out with Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Sunday. The Reds will then play their last two Premier League games of the campaign against Southampton and Liverpool before meeting the Blancos on May 28.
