The Europa League rivals have announced their starting XIs ahead of the upcoming battle.
Barcelona will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie. The Catalans go into the game on the back of their crucial win over Sevilla earlier this week.
Having claimed the second spot on the La Liga table, the Catalans must now take the next step in the Europa League. Xavi Hernandez has made three significant changes to the side that played the league game on Sunday.
Eric Garcia is back in Barca’s lineup, forming the centre-back duo with Gerard Pique. Ronald Araujo will play on the left-hand side of the Catalans’ defence, replacing Dani Alves, whose name is not on Barca’s list for the competition.
In midfield, Gavi has replaced Frenkie de Jong in the starting lineup, forming a midfield trip with Sergio Busquets and Pedri. Xavi has also started Adama Traore ahead of Ousmane Dembele, who displayed an outstanding performance against Sevilla.
Here are Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt’s confirmed lineups for the game:
Eintracht Frankfurt XI: Trapp, Ndicka, Jakic, Sow, Kostic, Hinteregger, Kamada, Borre, Lindstrom, Tuta, Knauff.
Barcelona XI: Ter Stegen, Pique, Araujo, Busquets, Traore, Pedri, Alba, F. Torres, Garcia, Aubamenyang, Gavi.
