The Association of Italian Footballers (AIC) gave out its annual awards for the 2020/21 season on Monday.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku have both made the Serie A’s best XI for the 2020/21 campaign.
The Premier League stars may have left Italy last summer, but their exploits are still fondly remembered. They finished as the top two scorers in 2020/21, with Ronaldo besting Lukaku with 29 goals to his name.
That said, the AIC crowned Lukaku as the best player of the season for his role in helping Inter Milan end their 11-year wait for league glory. His former boss Antonio Conte, who is now at Tottenham, won the best coach prize. Inter, meanwhile, claimed the best club of the year accolade.
