The Magpies are keen to continue their extensive recruitment plans in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle spent more money than any other team in the top five European leagues this winter. A few smart transfers have improved the Magpies’ performances, completely distancing them from the relegation zone.

However, Newcastle’s current form is still far off what its new Saudi owners imagined for the club. They will re-enter the market with full force next summer, hoping to accelerate their efforts to find a place among the Premier League front-runners.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Newcastle are keen to add Victor Osimhen to their squad ahead of the next season. The Italian outlet claims the English side are prepare to make a €100m bid for the Super Eagles star.

Newcastle pursued their plans to buy a new striker during the winter transfer window. However, they stalled the search when their main target, Dusan Vlahovic, ended up joining Juventus.

While €100m seems enough to lure Napoli to accepting a deal, Newcastle might face competition in their potential bid to sign Osimhen.

The Napoli striker has attracted interest from several clubs, including Manchester United, who have been dealing with goalscoring problems lately.

Like other strikers in the market, Osimhen will most likely wait to see where Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland will end up.

The Napoli marksman’s price will naturally go higher when the two biggest assets in the market select their next clubs.
