A Ghanaian gold mine owner has explained his ambitious plan to take over Chelsea and sign a number of top-class stars.

Current Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich officially announced he would sell Chelsea last week. Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Russian businessman came under fierce pressure to give up his ownership of the club.

The Russian confirmed he would accept bids for the club, with multiple parties already showing interest in buying the club. A Ghanaian gold mine owner named Bernard Antwi Boasiako is the latest to join the club’s suitors.

Boasiako, who also works as a politician, and a radio station owner, vows to sign some of the world’s most expensive players if he takes over the club.

“I want to go and buy Chelsea Football Club. I am interested in it,” he told Wontumi FM

“Those who buy clubs are not footballers, but business people.

“I am also a businessman. I’m into gold mining. Why can’t we buy the club?

“I want to join the bidding.”

Asked about his transfer plans for the club, he responded: “If I become the owner, I want the Brazilian player at Real Madrid, Vinicius Jr – and to sell off Romelu Lukaku.

“I will speak with Manchester United to see if I can also buy Cristiano Ronaldo for Chelsea.

“I’d also look at signing Lionel Messi.

“Roman Abramovich has done his best. It is now time for him to support a Ghanaian or an African to buy Chelsea.”

The recent rumours around the club’s ownership seem to have no negative effect on the Blues’ form. After a narrow win over Luton Town in the FA Cup, Thomas Tuchel’s side crushed Burnley 4-0 last week. They will now prepare to face Norwich City in their next Premier League game on Thursday.
