Only seven points lie between the five clubs locked in a battle for the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot in the Premier League.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expects a ‘rollercoaster’ of a ride as the Premier League top-four battle gathers pace.
Manchester United currently hold fourth-place in the Premier League table, four points clear of West Ham and Arsenal – who have three games in hand.
Wolves are a further two points adrift in seventh, with Tottenham holding eighth spot.
‘It’s going to be a bit of a rollercoaster’
Reflecting on the close battle, Arteta conceded Arsenal won’t have it easy in a race he expects will last right until the end.
“I think it’s going to be a bit of a rollercoaster,” the Gunners boss told reporters ahead of Thursday’s home league match against Wolves.
“There are moments when a team opens a gap and then (others) catch up. You see the fixtures we all have to play and they’re extremely tricky.
“(The players) know what every game means for us. We know where we are. That race is going to be right until the end. There are a lot of clubs involved. You see different results than expected. Points at home will be crucial.”
Can Arsenal beat Wolves again?
The Gunners can boost their hopes of ending a five-year absence from the Champions League by beating Wolves on Thursday night.
Arsenal previously beat Bruno Lage’s team 1-0 at Molineux on February 10, but can they do it again at home this time? Given the short odds on offers, there may be value in backing Arteta’s men to snatch three points again.
