The French side are reportedly interested in signing Ronaldo to soften the blow of Mbappe’s potential departure.

Cristiano Ronaldo made a sensational return to Manchester United after spending 12 years away from Old Trafford. However, a few months into his new spell at the club, doubts about his future has already surfaced on media outlets.

A new report from 90min claims PSG are hoping to sign the Portuguese superstar next summer. The Qatari owners of the club are reportedly keen to improve their reputation in Europe, with Ronaldo’s signing being part of their plans for the next summer.

The French giants might also lose one of their crucial attacking players next summer. Kylian Mbappe is spending the last months of his current contract, with Real Madrid being his main suitor.

Mbappe’s free departure will certainly hurt PSG’s squad. However, having Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Cristiano Ronaldo forming the team’s new attacking might soften the blow to an extent.

Jorge Mendes has been reportedly fielding enquiries in recent months while PSG are weighing up a potential move. Man United’s potential failure to end the current season among the Premier League’s top four might increase the likelihood of Ronaldo’s departure.

In recent weeks, several reports have claimed Ronaldo’s relationship with United manager Ralf Rangnick has worsened. In case Zinedine Zidane takes charge at PSG, a move to Parc des Prince would provide the 37-year-old with a chance to reunite with one of his favourite coaches.
