The Liverpool boss was delighted to see his side win their fourth Premier League game in a row.
Liverpool defeated Burnley 1-0 in their Premier League game on Sunday. Fabinho’s early opener was enough for Jurgen Klopp’s side to clinch another narrow victory as they continue chasing league leaders Manchester City.
Burnley failed to end their 11-game winless run against Liverpool, but they were far from easy opponents for the Reds. The Clarets had several goalscoring chances in both halves, forcing Alisson Becker to make five saves.
In a post-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp expressed his satisfaction over his side’s performance.
“A perfect afternoon – raining and windy,” he told Sky Sports.
“We scored from a set-piece and it was a brilliant goal, to be honest.
“Everything today was set up to be a banana skin for us. The balls in the air were so tricky to defend because the wind came from all directions. We played the circumstances rather than suffered from them.
“Most of their chances were offside but of course they had their moments, that is clear. They have quality, but we dealt with it pretty well.
“We had to work incredibly hard and that is what the boys did. We made our shirts dirty. I am really happy because I know how difficult it is to come here. Absolutely satisfied.”
Liverpool are nine points behind Manchester City in the Premier League with a game at hand. The Reds will face Inter in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday before facing Norwich in their next league game three days later.
