The German manager said his side repeated the same mistakes that prevented them from winning their last two games.

Manchester United suffered their third consecutive 1-1 draw on Saturday. Jadon Sancho opened the scoring for the Red Devils against Southampton in the first half. However, Ralf Rangnick’s side were not able to hold on to their lead, with Che Adams scoring the equalizer for the Saints.

In all three of their recent draws, United have missed several chances to extend their lead before conceding the equalizers. Rangnick believes his side should deal with their composure issues quickly.

He said (via Eurosport): “It was a very good first half hour. I was pleased with our performance. We didn’t allow them too many chances, but they had transitional moments in the first half and then scored an early goal in the second half.

He added: “Then it was an open game, each team had chances. We had the clearer chances to win. But, right now we are struggling to keep our composure and the structure for more than the first half.

“We have to understand where we are. [Southampton] won 3-2 at Tottenham. We got a point today, we expected three and needed three, but that is the situation.

“That is why there was a change of manager and why we are here.”

Man United are on the verge of losing their fifth spot on the league table, with Arsenal lurking behind them being a point down. The Red Devils will now prepare to face Brighton in their next league game on Tuesday.
