The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has returned to the Manchester United starting XI to face Southampton in the Premier League.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been recalled to the line-up ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League match against Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
Interim boss Ralf Rangnick has replaced Edinson Cavani with Ronaldo for the match. It’s the only change the German has made from the line-up that drew 1-1 against Burnley last weekend. CR7 will hope to prove the manager right, as he bids to end a five-match goalless run.
Cavani is out of the squad because of a groin injury, despite being at the team hotel on Friday night. Youngsters Hannibal Mejbri and Anthony Elanga, meanwhile, both made the bench.
Rangnick on Cavani: "Edi had to pull out after training last night, he has groin problems, he had treatment the whole night and whole morning but in the end he said he’s just not available." #mufc

Elsewhere, Southampton have made no changes from the XI that defeated Tottenham 3-2 in north London last time out.
