Barca are set to rename their stadium to ‘Camp Nou Spotify’ as part of a record-breaking £67m-a-year sponsorship deal.

Barcelona are set to rename their iconic stadium to ‘Camp Nou Spotify’ as part of a huge sponsorship deal with the streaming service giants.

The La Liga giants are reportedly currently negotiating the biggest sponsorship package in the history of football, according to reports.

Catalunya Radio have claimed that Spotify are in talks to become the club’s main sponsor and the deal reportedly includes naming rights to the Camp Nou.

The report adds that Spotify are only looking for a short-term deal, and while Barcelona are keen on a longer one, they are willing to accept the clause.

Barca’s current sponsors, Rakuten and Beko, have their deals expiring in six months, and the cash-strapped Spanish club are looking for a lucrative deal to help them with their financial woes.

The entire deal, which includes the title rights for the stadium, is reported to be worth between €60m-€65m.

Speaking earlier this month, Barca president Joan Laporta insisted that the club can compete with the world’s best clubs despite their ongoing financial woes.

“Everybody in the world should get ready because we are back as big players in the market. Barcelona are back,” Laporta said at the unveiling of new signing Ferran Torres.

“We continue to be a reference in the football market,” he added.

“Everyone else should prepare themselves because we’re back. We are a reference point, that is why Ferran is here. We are re-emerging.”
