Man United are eyeing a move for one of South America’s most exciting talents.

Since joining Porto in 2019, Luis Diaz has developed into a key star for the Portuguese side. The Colombian star has enjoyed incredible form this season, drawing comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo due to his similar playing style.

Similar to Ronaldo, Diaz’s exceptional ability to cut in from the left provides him with excellent goal-scoring opportunities. The 24-year-old has scored 13 goals in his 22 appearances for Porto this season.

Liverpool and Manchester City are two known suitors of Diaz. However, they might face fierce competition from another Premier League side.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United have joined the transfer race for the Colombian. The Red Devils are reportedly planning to add Diaz to their ranks during the next two transfer windows. The player himself prefers a January move as he is keen to keep playing in the Champions League.

Ralf Rangnick is looking to improve United’s squad this winter, and the attacking unit seems like the best place to start. With Antony Martial getting closer to exit doors at Old Trafford, an attacking spot will free up for Diaz. Marcos Rashford’s unstable form and Edinson Cavani’s imminent exit might also persuade United to sign a new forward.

Porto reportedly demanded €80 million for Diaz last summer. However, they might even increase this figure due to the players’ performances and the abundance of suitors.
