The PSG star was on the verge of joining Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Real Madrid were seriously eyeing a move for Kylian Mbappe last summer. The Blancos made several offers to PSG, which were all rejected by the French giants.
Mbappe’s current deal at PSG expires in the summer, with the Frenchman rejecting the club’s offers for a renewal. The winter transfer window is PSG’s last chance to cash out on the young star.
However, as things stand, Mbappe will most likely join Real Madrid as a free agent in the summer.
In a new interview, the PSG star has opened up on his failed summer move to Real Madrid.
“It’s not easy,” Mbappe told Prime Video (via Fabrizio Romano).
“Whatever happens, I’m going to play for a big club.
People were asking me if I wasn’t too disappointed… yes a bit at the beginning, when you wanted to leave, but I wasn’t in the 3rd division”
Mbappe has retained his world-class form this season. The PSG star has continued his role as a key player despite the arrival of Lionel Messi. However, his future at the club remain uncertain as he still seems to be leaning toward a move to Real Madrid.
