The Chelsea manager singled out Jorginho and Mendy for their unfocused performance at the London Stadium.

West Ham came back from behind to defeat Chelsea 3-2 in their Premier League game on Saturday. The Blues led twice, thanks to goals from Thiago Silva and Mason Mount. However, West Ham managed to complete their comeback by making the best out of their opponents’ mistakes. Arthur Masuaku scored his maiden Premier League goal to seal the victory for the hosts in the 87th minute.

In a post-match interview, Thomas Tuchel admitted his side made too many individual mistakes against the Hammers.

He said (via Metro): “I don’t think we did a bad match, it was an okay match. It’s tough to play here. We had too many individual mistakes, it was the same against Man Utd and Watford. We talked about it before and obviously, it didn’t help. That’s the story.

“Everybody is involved, the decision is not the best to pass the ball back. Decision making is not best from Edu (Edouard Mendy) in this moment.

Poor performances from two top players!

Jorginho’s poor back pass to Edouard Mendy in the 40th place resulted in a penalty for the hosts. Mendy was also responsible for West Ham’s winner as he reacted too late to Masuaku’s cross.

Tuchel added: “We created a lot of half-chances. Had a lot of touches in the box. Sometimes you need luck with a deflected shot, which we didn’t have. But, the third one was a strange one.

“We could not finish it with clear and better chances, be more ruthless. We Struggled a bit, defensively too. A horrible pass back in the feet of the opponent. You cannot do that in the top level.

“Every loss is a bump in the road, that will not hold us back with what we demand from us. We need to play more accurately and more stable.”

Chelsea might lose the top spot as Liverpool and Man City are one point away from them at the moment. On Wednesday, the Blues will return to Champions League to play against Zenit in their final group stage game.
