The Tottenham coach is reportedly planning to sign Man United defender Eric Bailly this winter.

Eric Bailly has struggled for game time at Manchester United this season. The defender has played only 45 minutes in the Premier League, moving closer to the exit door at Old Trafford.

According to renowned journalist Duncan Castles, Tottenham are eyeing a move for Bailly. Spurs boss Antonio Conte is reportedly a big fan of the Ivorian, holding talks with the club over a move.

Since joining Man United five years ago, Bailly has failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford. The former Villarreal defender has struggled with several injuries, making only 109 appearances for the Red Devils.

Bailly was already down in the pecking order when Raphael Varane arrived in the summer. However, Varane’s presence eliminated the 27-year-old’s hopes of becoming a starter at Man United. Varane, Harry Maguire, and Victor Lindelof are all ahead of Bailly in the team’s pecking order.

Conte is looking to bolster Tottenham’s backline, and the Man United defender seems like a fine addition to his side. The manager was reportedly eyeing a move for Bailly during his time at Inter. However, a move could be affected by the appointment of the new Man United interim boss.

Ralf Rangnick is reportedly close to joining the club until the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether he will prefer to keep Bailly in his squad or to sell him this winter.
