According to a report from an Italian media outlet, Jose Mourinho wants to bring an Arsenal player to Roma in January.
Jose Mourinho is keen on seeing Arsenal star Granit Xhaka at Roma when the upcoming January transfer window arrives.
As a matter of fact, the Serie A outfit made attempts to purchase the Swiss midfielder during the summer transfer season. But, the Gunners ended up offering a new agreement to him before he got injured.
Regardless of that, Mourinho and Roma are willing to invest money in Xhaka in the forthcoming transfer window, per Corriere Dello Sport. The Italian club is monitoring his recovery and might begin negotiations shortly.
However, if they want to convince Arsenal, they need to put forth an eyecatching offer for the 29-year-old. Otherwise, it does not seem likely that Mikel Arteta would let go of his important central player. Unless of course, they wish to find another player.
Currently, Arteta has Albert Lokonga and Thomas Partey performing well at Emirates Stadium. Mohamed Elneny is showing signs of leaving the club and Xhaka can fill his spot to reassure his position after the recovery.
Summer was the perfect time for Roma to snatch the Switzerland international. Now that his contract is renewed, it would be a complicated task for Mourinho and his team to drag Xhaka to Stadio Olimpico.
