Ciro Immobile will not play for Lazio in the upcoming game due to a calf injury.
Lazio striker Immobile was selected by Roberto Mancini for the Azzurri’s World Cup qualifiers two weeks ago. However, the Italian FA confirmed he had suffered a calf injury three days later, missing two crucial Italy games.
Italy eventually failed to secure automatic qualification as they finished second behind Switzerland in Group C. However, Immobile will also miss Lazio’s upcoming game in Serie A.
The Biancocelesti will face Juventus in a crucial Serie A game on Saturday. However, Maurizio Sarri’s side will have to play without the services of their key striker.
According to ANSA, Immobile is yet to recover from his calf injury. The former Borussia Dortmund striker will not play against Juve, with Sarri planning to replace him with Pedro.
Both teams will try to re-gain their newly found forms from before the international break. After making a poor start to the season, Juventus managed to secure three consecutive wins before the break.
On the other side, Lazio have been unbeaten in their last four games. The Biancocelesti sit sixth in Serie A with 21 points from their 12 matches. They might leapfrog Atalanta from the fourth place if they defeat the Bianconeri in the upcoming match.
