Keiran Trippier suffered a grade III shoulder sprain earlier this month.
Atletico Madrid suffered a huge blow when their versatile defender Keiran Trippier was injured during a 3-3 draw against Valencia. The England international was ruled of the Three Lions’ two World Cup qualifiers as he continues his recovery process.
According to Marca, Trippier will not be back in Atletico’s squad before the New Year. This adds to Diego Simeone’s problems, whose side has been clearly out of form lately.
The La Liga champions have slipped to fourth place on the league table with 23 points from 12 matches. Simeone’s side will not have Trippier at their disposal for their league games against Osasuna, Cadiz, Mallorca, Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, Sevilla and Granada. The 31-year-old will also miss his side’s matches against Milan and Porto in the Champions League.
Marcos Llorente, who will complete his recovery in the coming days, will replace Trippier at right-back. However, Sime Vrsaljko and Jose Gimenez can also play in that position.
Atletico Madrid will be back in action against Osasuna on Saturday. The Spanish giants will then face Milan in a Champions League match three days later.
