The Liverpool forward suffered an injury scare when he came off early into Senegal’s latest World Cup qualifier.
Senegal manager Aliou Cisse has said Sadio Mane’s injury isn’t serious and that he only took him off as a precaution.
The 29-year-old came off inside the opening 28 minutes of Senegal’s 1-1 draw against Togo in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday.
He appeared in some discomfort after an aerial challenge and promptly made way for Boulaye Dia at the Stade de Kegue. Reports, however, have described the issue as a mere knock.

“Yes, the exit of Sadio Mane destabilized us. He is an important player for the team,” said Cisse as per The Guardian. “We took him off as a precaution and there is nothing serious.”
It’s understood Senegal will assess Mane ahead of Sunday’s next World Cup qualifier at home to DR Congo.
Whether the 2019 African Footballer of the Year plays, though, makes little difference. The Lions of Teranga have already qualified for the next round of the African World Cup qualifiers. They currently hold a seven-point lead over Togo at the top of Group H.
