The pair know each other from their time representing Portugal in Euro 2008. As Nuno was a backup goalkeeper to Ricardo, they never actually played with each other on the pitch. But the Spurs boss is proud to have shared a dressing room with his illustrious compatriot and revealed his respect for CR7 in a press conference on Friday.
“I was proud to say I was part of the squad for Euro 2008, so yes I know him,” said Nuno as per Football London.
“Ronaldo, for all of us Portuguese, is something we are very proud of. Ronaldo brought us so many moments of immense happiness. When you go around the world and people ask you where you’re from and you say Portugal, the first thing they say is Ronaldo.”
