There is a possibility that the proficient young hitman, who’s one of the hottest properties in football, could play alongside Romelu Lukaku next season.
Erling Haaland is, as speculations suggested, indeed a subject of interest for Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel has confirmed there are “regular” discussions about the player at the club.
Haaland has been making waves in the football world ever since joining Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg.
The Norwegian has amassed extraordinary numbers during his stint at Dortmund so far, having scored 70 goals and set up another 19 in just 69 matches.
It is, therefore, of no surprise that the 21-year-old striker is reportedly being courted by European heavyweights including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Chelsea.
“We talked about Erling Haaland a couple of times, including during the transfer window. But then it seemed absolutely unrealistic and not at all feasible,” Tuchel told SportBild.
“We talk about him regularly, of course, because he’s a fantastic player and clearly the defining figure at Dortmund, who is a big rival for us in the Champions League.”
Asked if Haaland joining Chelsea next summer is a possibility, considering the Blues already have Romelu Lukaku, Tuchel responded: “You mean two at the top [with] Lukaku and Haaland? We can talk about it!
“I don’t think we’ve been really serious about it yet, but let’s see what will happen in the next few weeks.”
