The Gunners endured a torrid start to the league campaign but now appear to have turned things around in a big way.
“Perspective changes quickly in both ways,” says Mikel Arteta who has been nominated for Premier League Manager of the Month but was under fire not too long ago.
Arsenal went on an impressive resurgent run in September after losing their opening Premier League three games in August.
The London side were ended on the right side of the scoreline in all three of their league fixtures last month, recording consecutive clean-sheet wins over Norwich City and Burnley before beating rivals Tottenham 3-1.
Arteta, as a result, alongside Liverpool‘s Jurgen Klopp, Manchester City‘s Pep Guardiola, Brighton‘s Graham Potter, and Aston Villa‘s Dean Smith, features on the list of nominees for September’s Manager of the Month award.
“It is the beauty of this sport, we all know that,” Arteta told at his pre-match press conference.
“We all depend on results and perspective changes quickly in both ways, so you always have to be on your toes.”
Arteta added on his long-term plans for Arsenal: “The plan is in place but the things that really matter for the plan to evolve and develop is the present and we have to focus on what we’re meant to do in the present because the rest has already been designed, planned and thought about.
“What is going to allow us to do that is just the present, so we have to focus on that.”
