Within an ace of being a world-beater at just 21, the BVB hitman is being poached by every club that can attract or afford him.
Erling Haaland joining Bayern Munich next summer looks unlikely, suggests the club’s former CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as he believes the player’s “future lies abroad.”
Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg as an exciting prospect. Just two years in, and he’s already world-class.
His numbers speak for him. The striker has notched up 63 goals and 18 assists in just 64 games in total for Dortmund so far.
The Norwegian sensation has what it takes to deliver on the biggest of stages, evident from the fact that he holds the record for the fastest as well as the youngest player to score 20 goals in the Champions League. Also, he’s the only player to reach double figures in goals in each of his first two seasons in Europe’s most prestigious club competition.
BVB have lost many of their stars to rivals Bayern in the past – but it seems that will not be the case for Haaland.
Rummenigge told Sport Bild: “He has become an absolute figurehead in the league alongside many Bayern Munich players.
“But I’m afraid he won’t be staying in the Bundesliga. The numbers that are circulating show that it’s difficult to keep him in Germany.
“I assume that his future lies abroad.”
