The Frenchman has become the third Chelsea player to join AC Milan this summer upon completing a second loan deal.
Tiemoue Bakayoko has told AC Milan supporters he never truly left and can’t wait to get started again.
The 27-year-old has rejoined AC Milan on a two-season loan deal from Chelsea. The agreement includes a buy obligation, set at around €17.5 million (£15m) if certain conditions are met.
Bakayoko, who spent the 2018/19 campaign on loan in Italy, returns to San Siro following a frustrating spell at Chelsea. The midfielder never lived up to expectations since a £40 million move from Monaco in 2017. He ended up making just 43 appearances across all competitions.
Further loan spells at Monaco and Napoli followed before Bakayoko sealed a return to AC Milan on Monday.
“Today is not really a comeback because I have the feeling that I have never completely left,” he posted on Instagram.
“I can’t wait to see you again. Big and beautiful challenges await for us!”
Bakayoko is the third Chelsea player to head out to AC Milan this summer after Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud, who joined the club on permanent deals.
The Frenchman hopes to make his second Rossoneri debut in a Serie A match against Lazio at home on September 12.
