Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist who specializes in football transfers, has offered the latest updates on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus future.
Cristiano Ronaldo is seriously considering a summer exit but has no offers on the table, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Doubts over Ronaldo’s future resurfaced on Sunday as the Portuguese ace sat on the bench in Juventus’ 2-2 draw at Udinese. CR7 instead came on in the second half to mark his 20th professional season. He almost capped it off with an injury-time winner, only for VAR to rule his header out for offside.
Since then, Ronaldo has again dominated headlines. He allegedly wants to resolve his future before the transfer window closes on August 31, although Juventus remain convinced he’ll stay.
“What we know is it is a complicated situation because Cristiano Ronaldo is seriously considering the opportunity of leaving Juventus this summer, in the coming few days, but it is really, really complicated,” Romano told Sky Sports.
“It’s really difficult because as of now, in the last three months, he has not received any correct bid, right bid and neither have Juventus. So, the situation is quiet because no clubs are approaching Cristiano Ronaldo. He is still hoping to find a solution, but from Juventus, what they are saying is we have not received any proposals and we count on Ronaldo for this season.
“That’s why the situation at the moment is still quiet, but he was on the bench because of this. So let’s see what happens but as of now, Juventus are convinced Ronaldo will be staying at the club.”
Real Madrid & PSG are not options
Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti ruled out a reunion with Ronaldo on Twitter last week, while Paris Saint-Germain have just signed Lionel Messi. The Parisians may only bid for another forward if Kylian Mbappe leaves.
When asked where CR7 could go, Romano replied: “It’s a complicated situation because from Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti said no to the opportunity of re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
“From what I know, Paris Saint-Germain are not looking at Ronaldo as one of the options. They have signed many players this summer, so they are not looking at signing Ronaldo.
“Let’s see what happens but as I said, as of now there are no bids for Cristiano Ronaldo and only something surprising could happen if he will really leave Juventus because I want to say again, Juve are really convinced that at the end of the market he will be playing for Juventus.”
