Former Blues favourite Frank Leboeuf believes that a Sevilla defender would be a prized possession for Chelsea to own under Thomas Tuchel.

Frank Leboeuf completely supports the idea of Chelsea seeking to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla.

As per reports from Goal, the London club has been negotiating with Kounde over a potential transfer. The 22-year-old has most certainly stepped up to become one of the best young prospects in Europe since making it into the senior ranks in 2019.

And Leboeuf believes that Kounde could help Thomas Tuchel to build an even stronger team at Stamford Bridge. However, he is also of the opinion that the Sevilla defender will have to work hard to make it to Chelsea’s starting eleven.

“He’s (Kounde) a fantastic player,” the former Chelsea centre-back has told ESPN. “He has everything. He is a warrior. He never gives up. He has everything. He is the future for sure.”

“Maybe it’s an opportunity for Chelsea to get him maybe not this season, but next season.”

“I don’t know what Kounde wants to do in his life if he’s ready to be on the bench more than he thinks he will be. It’s up to him. It would be a good signing for Chelsea.”

Apparently, Chelsea are ready to sacrifice Kurt Zouma to strike any deal with Kounde. But Sevilla won’t allow their player to leave for a price less than his €80 million release clause.
