According to a report from Goal, Juventus defender Merih Demiral is set to make a Serie A move to Atalanta.
Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral is awaiting to make a move to Serie A side Atalanta according to Goal.
The Turkey international arrived from Sassuolo in 2019, however, could not find a place in the first-team at Bianconeri. Though now he aims to start a new life under Gian Piero Gasparini of Atalanta as the clubs reach inches closer to the deal.
As it stands, Demiral will sign a loan agreement in the beginning which will include a buyout clause costing €30 million. Furthermore, Juventus will also get a percentage of any future deals surrounding the 23-year-old defender.
If Demiral’s transfer is successful, Atalanta will complete the signing of the second defender during this transfer window. The first one is Matteo Lovato who joined the club on a permanent basis from Verona last week.
There are latest rumours that Copa America winner Cristian Romero has been a centre of attraction for several clubs. And some reports insinuate that Atalanta have accepted a €50 million-plus €5 million deal from Tottenham for the Argentine.
Therefore, if Romero leaves the club, the Juventus defender Demiral could get a perennial role at Atalanta.
