Ahead of the new footballing season, let us break down Chelsea’s transfer objectives during this summer’s transfer window.

Under Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea are looking to make important changes to the squad. And one of their main objectives is to sign a world-class striker. According to sources from Goal, the London club are inclined towards purchasing the man in form, Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. Even though the German champions are not willing to make a sale this summer, the 32-year-old might want to explore new horizons.

And having made efforts to sign the Polish striker two times in the past, Chelsea have held their hopes high. Lewandowski has two years left on his deal at Allianz Arena, and the Blues will push for him considering their good relationship from before. On another string, the Londoners are also eager to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. However, just like Bayern, BVB are not interested in letting go of their star striker unless a worthy bid is made (over £100 million).

What’s on the cards?

Chelsea wished to re-sign Romelu Lukaku, but the Belgian has already made commitments at Inter Milan. They are also willingly hunting for a central midfielder, with West Ham’s Declan Rice and Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga on the list. Another supplementary target is signing a defender, and Chelsea are seeking Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane, Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, and Bayern’s Niklas Sule.

Certain players are in the red zone and seem like they might try leaving the club soon. Like Tammy Abraham, who will look to follow Olivier Giroud but is on stall due to the transfer price of £40 million. Defenders Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger have not yet renewed their agreements in spite of having less than a year left. If we want to conclude Chelsea’s transfer objectives, we can say that they will look to make a big impact this summer having gained over £50 million already in player sales.
