In what has been a busy summer so far, the Gunners are now targeting a goalkeeper after a full-back and midfielder.
Arsenal going after Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale demonstrates that they are “a mess”, suggests ex-Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara.
Ramsdale has been linked with a move to Arsenal lately with Mikel Arteta keen on bringing in someone to offer competition to Bernd Leno. The 23-year-old Englishman will reportedly cost £30 million.
Should it go through, this piece of business by the Gunners will appear quite counterintuitive considering they had a solid backup shot-stopper in Emiliano Martinez but opted to offload him in a £20million deal.
Martinez has been a standout performer for both club and country in recent times, having helped Argentina achieve Copa America glory this summer before keeping 14 clean sheets for Aston Villa last season.
“This literally sums Arsenal up, doesn’t it. It sums them up business-wise,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.
“They got rid of Martinez, who’s a brilliant keeper for what, £20million or something? Let him go, a snip, was one of the best keepers last season.
“And now they’re gonna go and sign someone from a relegated team for £30million, what are they doing?
“Who is doing their business there? Seriously. What are they doing? They are a mess.”
