A new era in Real Madrid started yesterday with Carlo Ancelotti’s first full day of work as the new manager for the second time in his career.

Carlo Ancelotti was eager to start his work as Real Madrid’s manager and take it back where he left it off. Yesterday, he arrived in Valdebebas to begin a new era at the club with some familiar faces and a lot of new players. But more importantly, Carlo begins the second spell as the club’s manager without the two most important figures at the club. No Cristiano Ronaldo and no Sergio Ramos will mean Ancelotti will need to do his best without two absolute legends of the game. He does have other greats such as Luka Modric, Karim Benzema, or Toni Kroos.

Plus, Florentino Perez is working hard in order to bring the best possible replacements for those two sensible absentees. We know Ronaldo has been gone for a minute but he was still at the club when Carlo left. Yesterday, the club even released some interesting pictures of the Italian manager getting back to work with the few players he still has on the roster. There are currently only 15 active players who aren’t playing either the Copa America or the European Championship with their respective national teams. The pre season starts two weeks from today and Carlo is already starting to prepare for when that happens.

Who will be available on the first day back?

Two weeks from now, the available players will be: Lunin, Altube, Carvajal, Odriozola, Nacho, Marcelo, Mendy, Isco, Odegaard, Lucas Vazquez, Marco Asensio, Brahim, Mariano, and Rodrygo. For Ancelotti, having these players as ready as he can before the start of the season will be absolutely essential. As far as the major stars go, they will need to rest after their respective tournaments and will return after another two weeks.

It is clear that Carlo wants to win more titles at Real Madrid but the club doesn’t look like they will get far if they don’t make some important transfers this summer. Even though Florentino still is spending money in the stadium construction, he knows he needs to make a massive move for a superstar. Kylian Mbappe is the first choice for both him and Ancelotti but there are other great options. Yesterday was the first day Carletto met with the president in order to start planning the pre season and the summer transfers. We will start looking at more activity in the coming weeks.
