After being discharged from hospital, Christian Eriksen gave an update on his health and thanked the fans for their support.
Christian Eriksen claims to be ‘doing well under the circumstances’ following a successful operation.
The 29-year-old was discharged from the hospital on Friday less than a week after suffering a cardiac arrest in Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland in Copenhagen last weekend.
Eriksen, who has been fitted with an ICD heart-starting device, is now back at home with his family and eagerly awaiting Denmark’s next match against Russia on Monday.

“Thank you for the massive number of greetings – it has been incredible to see and feel,” said Eriksen in a statement from the Danish Football Association (DBU).
“The operation went well, and I am doing well under the circumstances. It was really great to see the guys again after the fantastic game they played last night. No need to say, that I will be cheering on them on Monday against Russia.”
The DFU added: “Christian Eriksen has been through a successful operation and was today discharged from Rigshospitalet. Today, he also visited the national team in Helsingor, and from there he will go home and spend time with his family.”
Denmark welcome Russia to Parken on Monday with an outside chance of qualifying for the Euro 2020 knockout stages.
Kasper Hjulmand’s men, who have lost each of their first two games in Group B, need to win to have any chance of snatching second place. Depending on the results of other teams, they could still qualify in third.
