A goal in each half required for the Bianconeri to avoid a first trophyless season in a decade and clinch their 14th Italian Cup.

Juventus are Coppa Italia 2020/21 champions after edging past Atalanta 2-1 at Stadio Citta del Tricolor.

Cristiano Ronaldo so often steps up on such occasions but Andrea Pirlo didn’t need his big guns as Dejan Kulusevski and Federico Chiesa were able to get the job done.

Kulusevski put his side on the front foot with a lovely left-footed finish just after the half-hour mark, curling the ball into the bottom right corner of the net following a swift breakaway by Juventus.

Ten minutes later, Atalanta equalized through Ruslan Malinovsky. The Ukrainian midfielder drove an effort down the middle of the goal to ensure his side do not go into the break with a disadvantage.

At minute 73, Chiesa, after piercing through the opposition defense following a neat one-two with Kulusevski, fired home what turned out to be the winning goal just before being replaced by Paulo Dybala.

Atalanta huffed and puffed but were unable to find the equalizer, allowing Juventus to take home their 14th Coppa Italia title.
