It was quite the scene as Alisson Becker scored a last-gasp header to help Liverpool beat West Brom and keep them in the top-four race.
A last-minute Alisson Becker header led Liverpool to a dramatic 2-1 win at West Brom to save the Premier League champions’ top four hopes.
Hal Robson-Kanu gave Sam Allardyce’s already-relegated Baggies a surprise lead early on in Sunday’s Midlands clash.
Mohamed Salah equalized before half-time, and Jurgen Klopp’s Reds rescued their Champions League qualification hopes as Alisson dramatically headed home a 94th-minute corner.
The win means Liverpool sit a point behind fourth-placed Chelsea with two games remaining. With Chelsea and Leicester facing each other at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening, and a win either way would leave the other side vulnerable to being caught by Liverpool on the final day of the season.
For Salah, that goal was crucial for him in the golden boot race as it saw him draw level with Harry Kane on 22 goals. If history is on his side, he is in line to win the award once again.
Back to the bigger scheme of things, Liverpool will still likely have to win their final two Premier League games – against Burnley and Crystal Palace – and hope for results to go their way elsewhere if they are going to play Champions League football next season.
