After months of uncertainty, Arsenal have confirmed a new long-term contract for Balogun.

Folarin Balogun has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal that will reportedly last until 2025.

The 19-year-old is a product of Arsenal’s famed Hale End academy. He has been part of the club since the age of eight, starred at youth level, and signed his first professional contract in February 2019.

But the New York-born striker has only made six appearances at senior level, all of which came under Mikel Arteta this season in the Europa League and EFL Cup.

Despite rarely playing Balogun this season, Arteta was confident of a new deal and is delighted to have it on pen and paper.

“We have been extremely impressed with Flo this season,” the Gunners boss told the club’s website.

“He has continually shown his natural ability in many training sessions with us, and we have been equally impressed with his early integration into the first-team squad on matchdays.

“He has given us glimpses with the performances and of course with his two goals already for the first team.

“The hard work starts here for Flo and we are all looking forward to supporting and working with him in the years to come.”

Balogun has mostly played in the Premier League 2 this season, supplying nine goals and three assists in 17 appearances.

With Arsenal’s main focus set to turn to the Europa League this week, he’ll hope for a chance in the top English division before the season ends.
