Morata unsure of Juventus future as Atletico loan winds down

The Spanish striker has impressed in his second stint with the Old Lady, who are set to lose him at the end of the season as things stand.

Alvaro Morata would “gladly stay at Juventus for life” but is unsure about his future at the club.

Morata arrived at Juventus on a season-long loan deal from Atletico Madrid, with an option to convert the move into a permanent transfer for €45 million.

The Bianconeri also have the option of extending the 28-year-old’s temporary stay until the next season for a fee of €10 million. However, they are yet to make any decision.

So far, the Spain international has done a fine job in front of goal for the Old Lady. He has 18 goals from 40 appearances in all competitions.

Morata told Sky Italia: “Everyone knows I would gladly stay here for life if I had the chance, but this is a profession, football is a business and a lot of the time we players don’t have much choice.”

The striker’s most recent goal for Juventus came in the 1-1 Serie A draw against Fiorentina on Sunday as he scored seconds after coming off the bench to rescue a point for his side.

“We could have scored more, but we didn’t manage,” Morata added. “We had a better attitude in the second half, which will make us win the next games.

“I look serious because I don’t like not winning. We are having a difficult season. This year has been so difficult. It doesn’t matter who scores. It counts to win games. Today we proved we could win it.”
