The Belgium international recently put an end to the uncertainty surrounding his Sky Blues future and now desires to join an exclusive club of players.
Kevi De Bruyne insists it would be “pretty special” if he manages to complete 10 years at Manchester City.
De Bruyne is currently in his sixth season at Manchester City, having joined the club from Wolfsburg for a reported โฌ75 million in the summer of 2015.
He had struggled to find his feet during his previous spell in England but gradually forged his reputation as one of the world’s finest players at City.
The reigning PFA Player of the Year has since featured 255 times for the Premier League leaders, contributing 65 goals and 105 assists and winning seven major honors.
The Belgian playmaker recently committed his future at the Etihad through to 2025. Should he honor the full length of his new deal, he will have completed a decade of service for the Sky Blues.
โI didnโt know the rules about a testimonial but to get an extension at my age shows the confidence the team has in me,” De Bruyne told the official Man City Podcast.
โI have been here for six years and we have been pushing so many limits with the club and the progress has been unbelievable.
โThe team has basically changed โ everybody has gone and new players came in so itโs really nice for them to have the confidence to keep me for another four years.
โIf that takes me to ten, thatโs pretty special, I think.โ
