Koeman has played it safe by leaving two returning players out of the FC Barcelona squad to face Real Valladolid in La Liga.
Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto are both out of Barcelona’s squad to face Real Valladolid at Camp Nou on Monday night.
The pair had returned to training over the past week after recovering from their respective injuries. But as Koeman warned during Sunday’s pre-match conference, the Barcelona boss intends to take no unnecessary risks.
He has decided, therefore, to keep Pique and Roberto out of the squad until both defenders are back in peak condition.
Goalkeeper Neto, who sustained a training injury last month, is also out along with long-term injured absentees Ansu Fati and Philippe Coutinho.
