Borussia Dortmund have been handed a major blow, following news that Jadon Sancho might be unable to feature against Manchester City.
Jadon Sancho is expected to miss Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League first leg clash against Manchester City on Tuesday.
The Borussia Dortmund star has spent the last month on the sidelines due to a muscle injury. Prior to the game against City, there were hopes the forward would make it in time to face his former side.
However, there would be no such reunion on the cards, as reported by The Athletic.
Sancho has mad 28 goal contributions from 31 appearances across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund this term. A good number of his 16 assists have resulted in goals for Haaland and his absence would come as a blow for the Bundesliga side.
With Dortmund struggling in the Bundesliga this term, any hopes of them progressing in the Champions League would have been heavily reliant on Haaland and his forward partner in Sancho.
Reports in Germany claim that the Englishman returned to Germany last week after working on his rehabilitation in Dubai.
Although he would miss the first leg, there is a positive chance Sancho would be back just in time to feature in the second leg of this fixture.
