The Foxes have received a double injury boost ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed James Maddison and Ricardo Pereira are both available for the weekend.

In their first match since the international break ended, Leicester welcome Manchester City to the King Power on Saturday. And in what could prove one of their most challenging fixtures, two key men could both play.

Maddison, who has been sidelined since mid-February with a hip problem, has returned to training but isn’t quite 100% fit yet.

“He’s back in training and he will be available for the weekend, so that’s great news for us,” said Rodgers on Maddison in a pre-match conference on Thursday.

“Clearly, he’s not 100 per cent match fit but, in terms of his football fitness, he looks great.

“In the last few weeks, he’s been working with the team, with the players we have available, and he’s stepped that up. He’s not reporting any pain, and he looks great. It’s really good news for us, his availability back into the squad again, and hopefully he can stay fit now until the end of the season.”

Pereira, meanwhile, has made only 10 appearances in the Premier League. The Portuguese full-back missed most of the start of this season with a ligament rupture and suffered a knock last month.

“He’ll be available as well,” Rodgers said on Pereira. “Him and James have been on similar programmes this last couple of weeks. He’s trained with the group and will be available for the squad.”

Cengiz Under and Harvey Barnes, however, won’t be available on Saturday as they recover from their respective injuries.
