Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed a weird story from his days when he worked for Molde.
Hairstyling has become a common phenomenon in the world of football, especially after the beginning of the 21st century. But Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to be against players having an “out-of-the-ordinary” haircut.
This incident took place when Solskjaer was in the managerial position at Molde back in his home country Norway. Along with a bunch of his scouting team, he had travelled to look for a potential signing.
However, Solskjaer called the trip off as soon as he saw that the player he had gone to sign for had a “mohawk”. Now if you think about the whole thing, he himself has been in the presence of his former Red Devils teammate David Beckham who fashioned the same hairdo.
Along with Beckham, several other star players such as Marek Hamsik and Arturo Vidal rock the similar hairstyle. Yet the entire idea of keeping the hair in that manner does not seem to suit the Man United manager.
Solskjaer told Sky Sports: “I once went to see a player and as he walked out of the dressing room or through the tunnel onto the pitch, he had a Mohican. This was when I was back in Norway.”
“I just said to my scout: ‘Let’s go home, not interested.’ That was a very short scouting trip.”
