The Tottenham boss has opened up on the love and gratitude he holds for his fans from all over the world.

Jose Mourinho used to affectionally call his fans around the world “Mourinistas” and revealed how they still motivate him.

As one of the most successful managers in football history, Mourinho has no shortage of admirers. His successes in Portugal, England, Italy, and Spain have given him a unique set of fan bases in Europe, and it appears to have a positive impact on him.

“Honestly, I get my strength from myself, but mainly from the people that I love and the people that I know, they love me, even if many of them I don’t know them,” said Mourinho as quoted by Sky Sports.

“I never met them. I used to call them the Mourinistas because in Portugal we use these ‘inistas’ in the end of the name of the club that we love to express to supporters.

“So, for example, if you are from Porto, you say Portista, if you are from Benfica, you say Benfikista. And if you are from Mourinho, we say Mourinista. And I have so many more Mourinistas around the world that I, I play for them.”

Mourinho and Tottenham will return to action on April 4 in an away Premier League match to Newcastle.
