A number of members of the Los Blancos squad are on national duty, and the Brazilian feels the club football hiatus may have come at the wrong time.

Rodrygo is worried that the international break could end up affecting Real Madrid’s “momentum and groove”.

Real Madrid put in a dominant performance the last time they stepped onto the pitch, sealing a 3-1 victory over Celta Vigo in La Liga.

It marked their third successive win while Zinedine Zidane’s men also extended their unbeaten streak to 10 games across all competitions.

The La Liga champions were inconsistent earlier in the season due to which they find themselves out of place in the title defense, lagging behind both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

And just as they had begun playing their best football this season, the international break hit.

Rodrygo told Real Madrid TV: “This week without games is a bit bad for us because it stops the momentum and groove we were carrying, but at the same time it gives us days to train hard and gain confidence so that we can be even better.

“I hope we can keep performing well when we’re back, we never give up.”
