Goodison Park was the place where Manchester City visited Everton in the FA Cup quarterfinals on Saturday. We got tonight’s player ratings.

After Manchester City’s hard fought victory against Everton tonight, the quadruple chatter will intensify to annoying levels. We’ve seen this situation in the past with the Citizens where they appear invincible but somehow manage to bottle their chances. Anybody who speaks of this quadruple nonsense should have a little patience until the final stage of the season. Not even Pep Guardiola likes this kind of talk, he actually hates it.

Today, City played at Goodison Park in a match that already seemed it was going to be a difficult endeavor for him and his players. Carlo Ancelotti is famous for parking the bus in crunch matches like this one. That’s exactly what he did for nearly 90 minutes. The Toffees were able to hold the 0-0 result until six minutes before the final whistle but they couldn’t take it anymore. Pep Guardiola kept on trying to get that winning goal and Gundogan was the one who gave it to him.

Ancelotti couldn’t take more beating.

Those final minutes are proof that Manchester City0s physical conditioning pays off throughout the season. We can confirm that the Citizens have never been this fit since the Catalan manager arrived. There is simply an unusual number of ballers within the squad that are currently at the top of their game. Their first goal came after a fantastic solo run from Laporte that hit the bar but Gundogan managed to head home.

Minutes later, Rodri connected with Kevin de Bruyne after coming from the bench to secure the final result. With this win, the Citizens keep that dream of winning titles alive. We have no idea how many they will lift but there’s a feeling they might get at least a couple of them. However, this season won’t be as successful as the rest of they don’t win the UEFA Champions League. That’s the only trophy that truly matters for Pep and his boys this season.
