After getting a little more relaxed with Ibai Llanos, Sergio Ramos revealed his incredible plan for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Spain.

Sergio Ramos revealed his incredible plans by the time the 2026 World Cup happens in Mexico, the United States, and Canada. When this tournament takes place, Sergio will be 40 years of age and probably will be retired. But Ramos has other plans for this competition. The most World Cup participations from players in football history is five, with only three players as part of this select group.

Mexicans Rafa Marquez and Antonio Carbajal share the podium with Lothar Matthaus. Many want to add Gianluigi Buffon to this list but he didn’t play a single minute during the 1998 World Cup in France. If Ramos plays in Qatar during the 2022 tournament, he will join this select group of players. But the Real Madrid defender has ambitious plans to make it all the way to the 2026 contest.

Ramos explains his plans for 2026.

During the Twitch stream session with Ibai Llanos, Ramos revealed everything about his master plan: “Football has evolved for the better on the physical aspect. It’s more balanced every year. Many of us already took good care of our bodies for the last decade. My 34 years are 28 years a decade ago. If you plant a seed ten years ago, today you pick up the benefits of that. I feel stronger, faster, and more experienced. Perhaps I might leave the sport earlier due to a mental aspect more than physical.

“I’m happy we can be an example for the younger players. I remain calm because my mentality makes a difference every day and I take care of my physique. There’s a chance for me to make it to the 2026 World Cup in Mexico. That would make me the only player to perform in six World Cups ever. But you have to take this day by day. I would definitely go with 40 years of age, even as a kit man. But that’s only how I feel today.”
