Jack Grealish was massively linked to Manchester United during the transfer window last season. Here’s what he had to say.
Jack Grealish received questions regarding his transfer to Manchester United back in 2020. And as brilliant as he is on the field, his short and simple response could break social media. During the winter and the summer transfer windows, the England international was linked to making a move to Old Trafford.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer found Bruno Fernandes as a solution to his midfield dilemma who moved from Sporting. Evidently, the Red Devils purchased the Portuguese playmaker for €55 million in January 2020. And as we have all seen, Fernandes has become a prominent figure in the heart of United. The 26-year-old has shown vast development with 34 goals and 21 assists in 62 appearances.
Smart on and off the pitch.
Grealish on the other hand is relishing at Aston Villa as the team captain under Dean Smith’s management. The 25-year-old has shown improvement since joining the Premier League level with 10 goals and eight assists in the 2019-20 season. Whereas during this new campaign, Grealish has racked seven goals and 10 assists in total.
Nevertheless, he was quizzed regarding links between him and the Reds from Manchester as he spoke to YouTuber Harry Pinero. The YouTuber is known to be a United supporter, and Grealish’s response was quite concise: “You’ve got Bruno anyway!”. But on the contrary, the Englishman replied in a humble manner when informed that he has “the filthiest first touch” in the Premier League. Grealish said: “That’s not true. I do some alright touches but you need to put a bit of respect on Bruno and KDB [Kevin De Bruyne].”
