After scoring his brace against Real Sociedad, Bruno Fernandes told the press what his true target is as a Manchester United player.
There is no denying that Bruno Fernandes is Manchester United’s best player this season. With 21 goals and 11 assists in 36 matches so far. Nobody doubts his quality or influence in not only his club, but English football in general. After only one year playing for the Red Devils, Bruno is already delivering similar numbers to Cristiano Ronaldo. In fact, Fernandes is showing even more playmaking capabilities with only trophies lacking in his cabinet.
Even mentally-wise, Bruno is similar to Ronaldo because all he cares about is winning titles this season. Regardless of the goals and assists, nothing will matter to him if titles don’t come to Manchester United. During the aftermath of the game against Real Sociedad, Bruno spoke to BT Sport: “The result is really good, we saw our desire to win games. We did everything well, but there is still a difficult game to play at home. The goals? My goal is to score as many goals as possible, but the real and most important one is to win trophies.”
What’s next for United?
After this convincing victory, the Red Devils have a tough month ahead in two competitions. First, they play Newcastle at Old Trafford in the Premier League before the return leg against Real Sociedad next Thursday. However, they visit Stamford Bridge just days after that. Then the Etihad to face the Premier League leaders: Manchester City.
After that, United play against West Ham at Old Trafford before the crucial FA Cup match against Leicester City at King Power Stadium. A month from now, we will see how well the Red Devils did and how influential Bruno Fernandes was. Can the Portuguese star perform as well as he did today over the next month? We are all eager to find out!
