Having been left out of the starting XI in the last two games, the Gabonese marksman marked his return to the line-up in style.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reached a major career milestone by scoring his first-ever Premier League hat-trick in Arsenal’s match against Leeds United on Sunday.

Aubameyang got his first goal thirteen minutes after kick-off, hitting a low shot into the near bottom corner of the net. His second came from the spot as he sent Illan Meslier the wrong way after the referee had awarded the hosts a penalty for a foul on Bukayo Saka.

The striker headed home Emile Smith Rowe’s cross at the far post two minutes after the break to complete his three-goal haul and seal a 4-1 win for Arsenal.

Apart from becoming the first Arsenal player to hit a Premier League hat-trick since Aaron Ramsey in February 2018, the Gabon international reached a European top-five league double century.

200 goals in Europe’s top-five leagues have now been scored by the former Lille, Monaco, Saint-Etienne, and Borussia Dortmund man.

Aubameyang scored four times combined during his loan spells at Lille and Monaco, found the net 37 times with Saint-Etienne, notched up 98 goals in 144 games for Borussia Dortmund, and has hit 81 goals so far for Arsenal.
