The 36-year-old has impressed in his first season at Chelsea but will be out of contract in the summer.

Thiago Silva is willing to extend his stay at Chelsea and plans to make a final decision at the end of the season, according to The Telegraph.

The former Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan star has proved to be a revelation in the Blues defense since his free transfer last summer. He has made 21 appearances in all competitions, including 17 in the Premier League.

And while Silva has suffered an unfortunate thigh injury recently, the Brazilian is keen to extend his stay in west London. As long as manager Thomas Tuchel has him in his plans, he will probably sign a new contract.

The club board is yet to address Silva’s expiring contract, but it’s understood that neither party is in a rush to begin negotiations.
