Chelsea defender Reece James denounced the shocking racist messages he has received on social media.

This Friday afternoon, Manchester United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer shared an important message regarding racial abuse: “It’s just incredible that we have these scenes still, or this abuse, still in 2021.”

In fact, the Red Devils’ boss couldn’t have been more accurate as reports of racism in football keep surfacing. The latest victim of the horrible wave of racial abuse surrounding the football world was Chelsea’s Reece James. The player shared the terrible messages that he received on one of his social media platforms.

According to the young footballer, “something needs to change.” Racial abuse is getting increasingly more common on social media and many have stated that these platforms need to take action.

In fact, Solskjaer was one of the sport’s personalities to address the matter. Although the manager was referring to the abuse his players Tuanzebe and Martial recently received, his message goes out to all prejudice displayed online.

“I think the social media platforms needs to be looked at, yeah. If you can create anonymous accounts, abuse people, of course it’s not right. We’ll work together with everyone to stop this nonsense.”
